Rob has been flying paragliders since 1995, and teaching since 1998. Rob holds an advanced paragliding rating, advanced instructor rating, and tandem instructor rating. Rob is also the instructor’s instructor, and is the only Administrator on the south coast to certify experienced pilots as both tandem pilots and basic instructors. . Rob was awarded the “2002 Instructor of the Year” award from the United States Hang Gliding & Paragliding Association (USHPA). He coached the US Paragliding team in 2009, 2011 and 2013, leading them to the best team finish in history at the Paragliding World Championships in Mexico. He has experience as a certified EMT, and a member of the Sheriff Department’s Santa Barbara County Search and Rescue Team, and has served on the USHPA Board of Directors. Rob is also the chief instructor for the Wheels Up program which gets people in wheelchairs flying solo in paragliders in a modified wheelchair. He does a great deal of work as a board member for Santa Barbara Soaring Association. Rob teaches all over the world, and has been leading tours globally for over a decade.
